Saved contacts, notes, and recordings
Edit or delete a contact from its detail screen. Delete an individual note from its timeline. Deleting a contact removes the contact's notes and saved audio from OldMate's current local data, and, if you have backup on, removes them from the copy in your OldMate account on the next catch-up. A device or iCloud backup that you control may keep an older copy until that backup expires or is deleted; those Apple backups are separate from OldMate's.
Microphone and AI processing
You can stop future microphone access through iOS Settings. Before first sending personal data to OpenAI, OldMate names OpenAI, explains the data and purpose, and asks you to choose whether to allow the processing. Review or withdraw that permission at Settings → Privacy & AI. Withdrawing permission stops requests and later pipeline stages started after withdrawal; it cannot recall a request already transmitted for processing. Voice/typed capture and enrichment are unavailable, while local viewing, editing, deletion, support, and account controls remain available.
Back up to your OldMate account, or stop
Backup is off until you turn it on, and it is a separate permission from AI processing. Allowing OpenAI processing does not turn backup on, and turning backup off does not affect transcription. With backup on, you can also choose whether recordings are included, whether address-book links are included, and whether recordings are fetched before you ask for them. Background fetching is off until you turn it on, and stops at a cap when you do, so a restore cannot quietly use an unlimited amount of your data.
Turn backup off in OldMate's settings. The switch takes effect on your device straight away, so nothing further is sent, and OldMate offers to also delete the copy it is holding — an option ticked by default. Leaving it ticked removes every backed-up row and every recording from OldMate's servers. Nothing on your iPhone is touched, and OldMate keeps working with the copy on your device.
Unlike a request already sent to OpenAI, that copy is ours to delete, so turning backup off with that option left ticked really does take your content off our servers. Deleting it needs a connection to finish, and a scheduled server job clears any recording left behind. Turning backup on again starts a fresh copy; it does not bring back the one you deleted.
Delete your OldMate account
Use Settings → Delete account. After confirmation and password reauthentication for email accounts, OldMate removes the current user's locally stored contacts, notes, generated fields, cached data, recordings, and permission records; then every recording held in your account's storage folder; then the Supabase Auth account itself, which takes the backed-up contacts, notes, address-book links, identity decisions, feed history, and preferences with it. A step that fails part way is finished by a scheduled server job rather than left half-done. Processor copies and operational logs may expire later under the periods in the Privacy Policy.
A support email is not the primary deletion method. If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access Settings, first use the in-app password-reset route to restore access. You may email privacy@askoldmate.com for access support; never send us a password or authentication code.
Website analytics
The button below stores a denial choice in this browser. The OldMate website will keep Google Analytics disabled on later visits from the same browser unless you clear local website data or choose again.
Access, correction, or complaint
Email privacy@askoldmate.com. Tell us the country or region you live in and the right you want to exercise. Do not send a password, full recording, or another person's private information. We may need to verify that you control the account before acting.
